Setting Writing Worksheet
10
Getting your story on paper (or screen) is challenging in itself. I've found that being organized on the back end is one of the most helpful habits I've gotten into. It's easy to forget what color that room was or whether it had a fireplace, whether the romantic waterfall was 80ft or 120ft high.
Okay, it's not hard to remember that when you're writing it initially, but when you're working on the second book, or even a scene much later in the current book, it's easy to forget details. So having those details recorded somewhere already is key to saving yourself time looking those details up later.
This 2-page Setting Sketch is the same one I use personally when working on my own novels and short stories. It's more than just what the location looks like. There are sections for other things associated with the setting that you might not consider. I'm hoping other writers will find this setting sketch useful as well! Simply download the .pdf and print it out! Then you can put it into a project folder or rescan it to save digitally.
