My name is Jacob Konold and I recently earned my BS in General Studies at South Dakota State University with minors in Communication Studies and Fine Arts. During my studies, my focus of interest was Aquaponics. I have completed the Nelson and Pade Master Aquaponics Class and the Nelson and Pade online Aquaponics course and on-Site three day Lab. Additionally, I have constructed an Aquaponics system in which I successfully grew a variety of vegetables, my favorite being the Thai Chili Pepper, with Barramundi. I have worked for Prairie Aquatech, which is a facility aimed at testing GMO crops as protein for fish feed. Here, I assisted Graduate students with fish necropsy , fish nutrition trials, and fish health trials. Some of the species Ive worked with include rainbow trout, chinook salmon, saltwater shrimp, hybrid striped bass, and barramundi on a commercial scale. Working at Prairie Aquatech, I gained experience in creating fish feed on a commercial scale using GMO crops.
