Repair Broken Electronics
20
For every 20 simbi, I will spend up to an hour repairing a single broken electrical/electronic device. This includes (but is not limited to) TVs, DVD/CD/other media players, other A/V equipment, computers, cell phones, motorized/computerized toys, power tools, etc... If it utilizes electric current to operate, there's a decent chance I can repair it once I know what is wrong with it. This service does not include troubleshooting what is wrong with the device (Please see my separate service for that), nor the acquisition of repair parts (you'll have to order them yourself or arrange to reimburse me for their cost). Since this service assumes the problem is already known, I should be able to give a fairly accurate estimate of how long repair should take. This service is best done with the device delivered to my possession by local drop off/pickup or shipping, but I am also willing to try to assist virtually via a combination of voice/text/email/etc contact in order to walk you through doing the repairs yourself.
Training & Qualifications
I worked almost 10 years as a communications/electronics technician in the United States Marine Corps. I began as a broadband microwave/multichannel radio repairman, trained to service equipment all the way down to soldering individual discrete components. I later became trained as a Technical Controller, responsible for help in planning, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting tactical communication networks. After separating from the service, I went back to school, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Physics from Xavier University. I have taken numerous graduate level Computer Science classes and often repair my own devices when necessary.
