Beginner Japanese Rope Tying
30
This is an introduction to the Japanese art of shibari and kinbaku, otherwise known as rope bondage. I do not teach anything sexual, see my class outline below. I can make a class as short or as long as you wish, though the minimum is one hour, and I would recommend 2-3 hours.
Intro: We will chat about your experience, any limitations (injuries) you may have, and what you hope to get out of the lesson.
Safety: Rope placement, safety equipment, and other things to consider to make sure the experience is safe.
Rope: Everything regarding the rope itself: length, width, amount, type, where to buy it, etc.
Connection: Things you can add to the experience to change/improve it, such as the use of bamboo and breath work.
Local resources: Lessons, workshops, and events in the local area.
Ties: This is the section that takes the longest and can go on for a long time. I will teach extending and coiling rope along with ties of your choosing, such as a single column tie, double column tie, TK, chest harness, futomomo, ladder tie, and others
Training & Qualifications
I have two years of experience in the rope tying community and I have been to over 100 hours of lessons and workshops. I have taught this before and have assisted teaching with other members of the community.
