Sobreity companion

FOR years I suffered greatly from dual diagnosis of mental health issues and addiction. Starting when I was a young man I went from a daily cannabis user to a heroin addict. Then when I was in my 20's I joined the military and cross addicted to alcohol. Now I am 37 and have some sobriety time using partial abstinence known as Harm Reduction. I am on Opiate replacement Therapy and take prescribed meds for my PTSD. I have a wealth of knowledge about methods to curb the self destruction of addiction and would love to help others (my peers) accept life on life's terms by taking one day at a time. Sometimes total abstinence is not feasible or desirable so I can help others process these issues without judgement Through sharing my experience strength and hope... I can assist others in finding ways to reduce harm as well as share my own safe using practices. I have extensive experience with opiate replacement therapy and cannabis maintenance.
AS A DISCLAIMER I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL MH WORKER AND CAN ONLY SHARE MY EXPERIENCE AND HELP PROCESS OTHERS ISSUES THROUGH LISTENNG AS WELL AS SHARING MY EXPIERIENCE ( SUCCESSES AND FAILURES).
Training & Qualifications
My 20 years of fighting addiction with multiple years of total abstinence is my only qualification. I did intern with Artist Helping the Homeless in 2014 as a Peer Support Specialist and will be doing another internship with Rediscover in the near future. I am going to school for substance abuse counseling in which I have completed an Associate Degree in Arts currently from Metropolitan Community College.
